Music videos... with comic strips on the side?
Following The Weeknd's latest music video release at the time, "Snowchild", it became clear to me that the combination of cartoon with pop music is widely well-received. So, naturally, I had to combine my favorite pop music videos of 2020, Tinashe's "Save Room for Us" and THEY.'s "Playfight" (also featuring Tinashe!), with my appreciation for comic books.
This realization also opened up my eyes to a perhaps overlooked possibility: visual albums are well received by the public because we want to be told the story behind the recordings - that, however, does not mean that the only way to do it is via audiovisual projects.
Maybe a comic book can help you tell your story and reach a new audience. Or maybe it could help you establish a new found connection with your already loyal fanbase.
